Eight styles is a lot of choice, especially if you don’t deal with timber every day. Here is how we usually steer Tauranga customers when they ring up asking which style suits their back yard.
If you want clean and modern
Look at Oriental or Wide Oriental. Both are horizontal batten patterns. Oriental uses 35mm battens with a small gap between them, Wide Oriental uses 66mm battens with a bigger gap and a bolder shadow line. Wide Oriental photographs better on a feature wall. Oriental is the all-rounder.
If you want privacy with some breeze
Louvre wins. Fixed louvre blades sit at an angle that blocks the line of sight from the street or the neighbour while still letting air through. Great around pools and hot tubs where you do not want a solid wall trapping moisture.
If you want plants to climb
Square or Diagonal. Passionfruit, jasmine, clematis and climbing roses all attach better to a grid than to a solid horizontal panel. Diagonal (the traditional diamond lattice) is the classic cottage look. Square is more contemporary.
If you want a serious privacy or pool fence
Carmel. Heavy duty, dressed timber planks at 90mm x 19mm with rounded edges. It looks like deck timber turned on its side. Solid, premium, designed for the bigger jobs.
If you want a feature panel
Star for the unique geometric look, or our CNC-routed Pattern Panels for something really decorative. Both work well as gate inserts or behind a planter on a courtyard wall.
If you want a Bay of Plenty local look
Kaimai. It alternates our 35mm and 66mm battens for a pattern you do not see in the big-box stores. Named for the range, suits Bay of Plenty homes, and is one of our most ordered styles by Tauranga customers.
